About Rutgers Indonesia
Rutgers WPF was previously known as the World Population Foundation, which was established in 1997. In 2010, it merged with Rutgers Nisso to become Rutgers WPF Indonesia, with the goal of improving the quality of human life and eliminating violence.
There are still many challenges around sexual and reproductive health and rights in Indonesia: people being comfortable with their bodies, choice of partner and how many children they will have and being free from domestic violence, sexual harassment, or rape.
Rutgers WPF Indonesia works in partnership to provide youth-friendly access to comprehensive sexuality education and information and sexual health and reproductive services, promotes diversity and tolerance and strives to prevent violence against women and children.
A catalyst and a data hub
It supports the creation of safe spaces for the active participation and leadership of young people. It acts as an intermediary and catalyst between government and other strategic partners and a hub for data and information on Indonesian youth issues.
