Global Female Condoms Conference 2015

Let’s take female condoms to the next level! The UAFC programme, in which Rutgers participates, invites you to join the Global Female Condom Conference 2015 from 1 to 3 December in Durban, South Africa. This event offers a unique platform to share knowledge, experiences and ideas concerning female condoms with advocates, policy makers, manufacturers and researchers from all over the world.

Global female condom conferenceFemale condoms are the only method women can initiate themselves for protection against both unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Although major steps have been made in increasing the availability of these contraceptive life-savers in recent years, many women and men can still not access them. The Global Female Condom Conference aims to overcome the obstacles on the path for female condoms. The programme consists of scientific presentations, discussion panels, interactive workshops and much more.


The conference offers a varied programme with scientific presentations, discussion panels, interactive workshops and much more. A diverse audience, from policy makers to programmers and researchers, will participate. The governments of South Africa and Brazil will share their experience with globally thelargest female condom programmes. Influential advocates, representatives of manufacturers and high level speakers including Karl Hofmann (PSI) and Jagdish Upadhyay (UNFPA) will give keynote talks.

Enroll in workshops on female condom availability, demand creation and support in getting female condoms prominently on the agenda of governments,donors, implementing organizations and procurement agencies. Discuss all the latest developments and lessons learned, to see how these can benefit new female condom programmes and other upcoming women-initiated products.

The conference is being organized by UAFC in close colaboration with MatCH Research, PSI and CHANGE.

The Universal Access to Female Condoms (UAFC) Joint Programme started in 2009 with the aim to make female condoms accessible, affordable and available for all.
