ICPD+25 Shadow Report
Amplifying and accelerating action on young people’s SRHR
This shadow report dives into the progress and remaining gaps,in the implementation of the ICPD (International Conference on Population and Development) Programme of Action. The report gives a global analysis, as well as an overview of regional developments and the situation in the eleven countries/regions of the Right Here Right Now strategic partnership. Its goal is to highlight the critical importance of the ICPD+25 review processes in addressing the SRHR issues often left at the margins: comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), youth-friendly SRH services, safe and legal abortion and LGBTQI+ rights.
Since the publication of our shadow report in 2018, there have been regional reviews in each UN region on the progress of the ICPD Beyond 2014 agreements. A supplement has been created in which these reviews are summarised. It also explains the advocacy efforts of RHRN platforms during these reviews. It includes the most important achievements since the publication of our Shadow Report, as well as important regional outcomes for governments to build on.
