About Rutgers
Being free to enjoy sexuality and relationships, with respect for each other, is vital to people’s wellbeing. This freedom is at the heart of Rutgers’ work.
Rutgers is the Dutch centre of knowledge and expertise for the sexual health, safety and wellbeing. We provide reliable information, resources and support young people to make informed decisions about their bodies, lives and futures.
In collaboration with partners and experts working in education, healthcare and wellbeing, we support young people to grow up healthy, safe and happy. Our work spans the Netherlands, Europe and globally.
Rutgers is always looking to improve and innovate, striving for better ways to do things and new ways to connect with people. We are keen to strike up partnerships with like-minded organisations and agencies in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond who share our values.
Rutgers is the Dutch member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), a global non-profit organisation that promotes sexual and reproductive health and supports individuals’ rights to make their own choices regarding family planning. The IPPF consists of more than 149 member organisations operating in over 189 countries. Rutgers is an independent entity with its own board and operates autonomously.
