We invite you to discuss what is needed multilaterally to prevent unintended pregnancies and respect, protect and fulfill the right to health and education of young people.

To break the number of adolescent pregnancies, it is crucial to address harmful gender norms that perpetuate unequal power relationships and limit girls’ agency and autonomy.

Complications during pregnancy and childbirth are still a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity for adolescent girls.

Expert speakers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, UNFPA and UNESCO will share their findings and rights-based approaches. Young people who have experienced adolescent pregnancies will share what support, care, choice and access is needed.
