Rutgers’ innovative and comprehensive toolkit for implementing a gender transformative approach has proven to lead to better outcomes.
This toolkit has been designed as a resource and a guide to support the integration of a gender transformative approach (GTA) into sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) programmes and organisations. It consists of five modules.
Module 1: Six interrelated components and the socio-ecological model
Module 2: Gender transformative approach and comprehensive sexuality education
Module 3: Gender transformative approach and youth-friendly services
Module 4: Gender transformative approach and advocacy in the area of SRHR
Module 5: Gender transformative approach at the level of organisations and institutions
The first module of the toolkit can be implemented in existing and future SRHR and GBV prevention programmes.
