Parents’ Meeting Facilitation Manual

Are you  working in prevention of child marriages? And do you facilitate sessions with parents to discuss alternative future scenarios for their daughters? Then this training manual is your guideline!

With a special focus on illiterate participants the manual describes a program of six consecutive sessions that enables you to discuss harmful practices and other relevant sexual health and rights issues for parents and other caretakers of girls aged 8 – 18. It inspires them to choose alternatives for them and their communities do to give their daughters a healthy, more sustainable future.  The manual contains tips and links to useful Sexual and reproductive health-information for trainers and participants.

This manual is a pragmatic result of several pilot sessions with parents – and grandparents of different generations in Dhaka and surroundings. Ready to use for any facilitator who wants to discuss alternatives for child marriages with (illiterate) parents in a positive, respectful and participatory manner.
