Yes I Do Comic Strip

The Yes I Do programme contributed to a more gender equal society and better prospects for young girls and boys. This cartoon, developed within the framework of the external program evaluation, summarizes the changes in young people’s life the programme has contributed to.

The most important changes that YIDA contributed to included:

  • an increased ability for young people to speak up and make their own decisions;
  • an overall decrease in harmful practices such as child marriage, teenage pregnancy and FGM/C;
  • the ability for young people to gain new skills and increase their employability, and for some of
    them to go back to school after dropping out;
  • an increased access to SRHR information and services for young people in target communities; and
  • a more open dialogue among young people and adults around SRHR issues.
