How social norms research can support programming, campaigns and advocacy for gender justice.

Are you curious to find out how social norms research can support programming, campaigns and advocacy for gender justice?

Join our webinar on unraveling the enigma of social norms and learn more about it.

Rutgers Indonesia, together with Indonesian partners from the Power to You(th), Right Here Right Now and Generation G programmes and Tulodo (Indonesia Research Organisation) conducted social norms research, using the Social Norms Exploration Tool (SNET ) (developed by the Institute for Reproductive Health) to unravel

  1. which social norms influence how SGBV is often poorly acknowledged and addressed
  2. why many parents insist on marrying of their daughters at a young age, and
  3. why it remains so difficult for young people to meaningfully engage in decision making in Indonesia.

Rutgers Indonesia will present key findings and how these will help inform their programming, campaigning and advocacy for gender justice in 2023-2025.

Tulodo will briefly explain the SNET tool followed by a panel discussion on lessons learned for doing social norms research with reflections from ABUBEF (Association Burundaise Pour Le Bien-Être Familial), Rutgers Indonesia, Rutgers and Equimundo, Center for Masculinities and Social Justice.
